During 2012 Croatian Association of Artists started collaboration with the Association of artists of West Germany (WKB).

First step in this collaboration is an invitation of German artists to Croatian artists to participate in 33rd Survey Exhibition of the WKB.

The exhibition named wir wieder hier is going to be held in Kunstmuseum in Bochum, Germany from March 2nd until April 28th 2013 and along with the artworks of German artists there are going to be presented artworks of six Croatian artists: Marijan Crtalić, Duje Jurić, Ines Krasić, Andreja Kulunčić, Martina Mezak and Dino Zrnec.

Marijan Crtalić will exhibit his famous work The Phenomenon of Ironworks in which the focus is on the artistic heritage as a product of collaboration of the workers of Sisak Ironworks and artists and also as a product of artistic colonies from 1971 until 1990 in order to repurpose the Ironworks into something cultural.

8 Suitcases of Duje Jurić are artist’s expression of empathy towards the people who were forced by the war to leave their homes and search for the happier times somewhere else.

Ines Krasić will present interactive installation Californian Dream: Unisex, which in a funny way confront us with the society which we consume, despite it’s imperfections.

Andreja Kulunčić‘s installation “1CHF=1VOTE” reexamine the situation of the illegal immigrants in Switzerland, which donated 1 CHF for the renovation of the Swiss Parliament and in that way showed they are obligated and have a privileged to live in this society.

Video installation Temporarily Unavailable by Martina Mezak deals with the unconsciousness, with the thoughts we suppress, thoughts that are in the “corners of our conscious”, that we almost forgot.

Dino Zrnec will exhibit Album and Untitled, oil on canvas and series of drawing which are the part of visual research of the anonymous objects and real documents, which by detraction of its original meaning get new associations.

Croatian Association of Artists is planing to present this same exhibition, in its original or reduced size, in their gallery spaces during 2014 and in that way continue this collaboration.

The exhibition wir wieder hier shows us studies and working spaces of well known, but also young and talented artists. Visitors will get insight into different artistic concepts, methods and realizations in different medias since the exhibition is not determined by the theme.

Association of Artists of West Germany counts more than two hundred members and since 1996 successfully runs the Kunstmuseum in Bochum. The Association was founded in 1946 during the renovation after the World War II. By the organization of high quality exhibitions, the Association gained great respect among the artists and art lovers and it remained the base and initiator of artistic projects in Ruhr and Westfalia.

Since their start the WKB aims to the international collaborations hence this year they made first step in collaboration with the Croatian Association of Artists, that will continue in the future.
